The Literacy Department had their 2nd annual 2 day Book Tasting event. This event is for students to sample a variety of books in different genres. Here are a few reflections from students when asked "Why they liked the Book Tasting, and What they learned?" "This place really inspires me to read more." "It was a cool experience and I got to learn about new books." "It got me to see books I usually wouldn't like." To see more pictures visit our website at https://www.elkhills.k12.ca.us/

Please call in all absences within 24 hours. Many absences that should be excused go unexcused, leading to unnecessary truancies. It only takes three unexcused absences to become truant. #CALLITIN #ATTENDANCEAWARENESSMONTH

August's core value was Excellence: these students displayed excellence by staying on task in class, showing staff and peers respect, taking pride in a clean and safe campus, and following directions when asked. Congratulations to our August Elks of the Month! Keep up the great work!

September is Attendance Awareness Month! Attending school every day helps students build and maintain healthy social relationships with peers and school staff, ensures students have access to support systems, and helps cultivate academic success.

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow green and purple sign. Good school attendance means.. elementary students read well by the end of third grade. Middle Schoolers pass important courses. High schoolers stay on track for graduation. College students earn their degrees. Workers succeed in their jobs. Too many absences excused or unexcused can keep students from succeeding in school and in life. How many days are too many? 10% of the school year, that's 18 days or 2 days a month, can knock students off track. Images include child at desk, child standing, child throwing graduation hat, adult graduating from college, adult holding a red folder. Image of a red apple with a white hand on it and in green it says Attendance Works
Hi Parents, Out of concern for the safety of the students and respect for our neighboring homes, please pull inside of the school gate when picking up your student from school. You may use one of our parking spots, or follow the arrows and drive up to the curb for student pick up. Thank you
